Thank you SO much for your prayers for the four children who went to camp this past weekend. I couldn’t be there with them but the Lord most certainly was! When I picked them up Sunday, they were a little weary from all the activities but noticeably thrilled as well. When I asked who wanted to go to church next Sunday there was a resounding and unanimous “I do!”

Last week I said I would start catching you up on ministry news here, so please read on! Back in January we asked your prayers for our second children’s camp in just over a year. In November 2024 we took seven children to camp. For many it was the first time they were ever away from home.

In the following months three of those seven were baptized and began attending church regularly. This past January we nearly tripled that number with 17 going to camp! God is SO good!
These camps were made possible once again by Dianne Gremilion who raised funding so children from various favelas and needy communities throughout the greater Recife area could attend a Christian camp. Thank you Dianne!

Here’s just a few pictures of the kid’s and some of their camp activities: There were thought-provoking activities like writing on cups or balloons what the world says about us, versus what God’s word tells us about how He sees us:

In another activity the children were asked to write about their dreams for a career, what kind of work they would like to do in the future.

Some kids are so full of creativity you don’t even have to tell them where to find a canvas! Yes, it’s a marks-a-lot tattoo.

And yes, that might not be where the Lord would prefer Rickelmy declare who’s number one in his life. But, if your son grew up in the favelas, and almost every man he knew (including his father) had tattoos on his arms and legs, you could hardly blame him for thinking of tattooing his faith on his arm, could you?
Several times a day the children have lessons and Bible studies between time for crafts and sports.

Thank you SO much for your prayers for these precious sons and daughters of the King Please be praying this week that we’ll get them off to a good start this coming Sunday with engagement and connection with the other teens at church. Pray also their parents will be encouraged by the changes they see and their younger brothers and sisters will soon find their place in the Kingdom.
